On April 22, our 5th and 6th grade girls travel soccer players participated in a special training session during their regular travel practice led by a Division I college coach and student-athletes from the UMass Lowell (UML) Women’s Soccer Program.
The UML coach and players focused on technical skill development and tactical awareness, providing individualized feedback during structured drills and coaching the team through a high energy scrimmage at the end. Following the session, the UML players met with the girls to share their soccer experiences and answer questions, leaving our BYSA athletes motivated and smiling from ear to ear!
For families interested in additional opportunities, the UML women’s soccer team also offers a summer camp (www.umlwomenssoccercamps.totalcamps.com ) that combines skill development with an enjoyable experience for participants. BYSA has been well represented over the past two summers, and the camp has contributed to our growing partnership with the UML program.
Thank you to Coach James, Diana, Franzisca, and Maija for sharing your time, expertise, and enthusiasm with our players. We sincerely appreciate your support and the positive example you provide for our athletes.
